Before Your Appointment

We’re all for whatever you choose to do down there... Hair, some hair, no here or anything in between!

GROW YOUR HAIR
To achieve ideal waxing results, you'll need to grow your hair long enough for the wax to encase it and pull it out by the root.
A day or two before you wax, gently exfoliate with a mild scrub, brush, mitt, or loofah to remove dead skin cells that surround the hair follicles.

CLEAN SKIN
Always come to your waxing sessions with freshly washed skin.

What to Expect From Your First Bikini Wax:
We're not going to lie to you, bikini and Brazilian waxes can hurt. For some people, they hurt a lot. That said, they really aren't that bad. It's like ripping off a plaster, only… bigger.
One of the first things you should do on your first appointment is to let us know you're a newbie. Our beautician can let you know about the process and help make you more comfortable. Keep in mind that whoever we wax, we have seen it all and as long you follow our guidelines above, we won't think twice!

Common Waxing Questions

WILL I GET INGROWN HAIRS?
One of the advantages of waxing your bikini area is that doing so can help you avoid ingrown hairs (waxing can still cause some of them, to be clear, but shaving has more potential to do so). Plus, you can go weeks without thinking about grooming, which can be a major perk when you're hitting up the beach or pool every single weekend!

OUR 3 MOST COMMON WAX OPTIONS:

BIKINI WAX
This option is first-time-wax friendly. If you’re an  natural girl, this will tidy things up along the edges and keep you worry-free in the pool.

HIGH BIKINI WAX
This will take a little more off the top and the edges of your pubic region. If the idea of getting every last bit of hair waxed off is too intimidating, you can go for the High bikini wax.

BRAZILIAN WAX
The Brazilian continues to be the most popular style, for good reason. This option removes hair completely from the top and the sides, but also all the way under and around the back leaving you completely hairless
Is it safe to get a Brazilian wax during pregnancy? Barring any sensitive skin issues you might have, it's generally considered safe for pregnant women to get waxed during pregnancy.

After Your Appointment

You've just invested time, money and maybe a little discomfort in order to be hair-free so, it makes sense to prioritise some aftercare.
It’s normal immediately after your wax to have a little bit of redness and a possible rash on the skin. This should disappear after a few hours.

Because waxing removes the hair at the root, it’s important that you keep the area clean and bacteria free. Follow these guidelines:

  • No sunbathing for at least 12 hours (have your waxing done at least the day BEFORE you go on holiday)

  • No swimming in a chlorinated pool for 24 hours Same for spa baths or saunas

  • Avoid applying any topical lotions for at least 12 hours (fragrances and other lubricants can cause a burning sensation)

  • Avoid touching the waxed area to ensure it remains bacteria free.

You can purchase a lotion to help prevent ingrown hairs, ease the discomfort of waxing and help retard further hair growth.

It also helps to re-book your waxing appointment so you keep your hair removal maintainable, with regular waxing your hairs become thinner and finer, reducing the discomfort of hair removal.
